legacy
malcolm parker – 1897 — 1933
Malcolm Parker was enjoying a successful career as a Flavor chemist with a now defunct Baltimore Extract company in 1897. However, an unfortunate trolley car accident left him blind, and Malcolm lost his position with the company soon after. Though he lost his sight, he did not lose his vision. Determined to prove himself, Malcolm used his vast experience and knowledge to begin his own flavor business, Parker Vanilla Products, Inc.
llewellyn parker -1916 — 1960
In 1916, Malcolm’s son, Llewellyn, fully understanding his father’s mission, decided to join the family business. He ran the firm from 1933 through 1959. Three of his key employees served the company for over 45 years, providing a continuity for which we are greatly indebted. Under his leadership, the company expanded its focus adding many new flavors and selling to several national ice cream manufacturers for the first time in company history.
malcolm parker – 1959 — present
Llewellyn’s son, Malcolm, has contributed 50 years of service this year. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Malcolm targeted the bakery industry, building relationships throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Many of those accounts are still customers today. Today, he serves as Chairman.
tim parker – 1990 — present
Four generations later, the company remains family owned and operated in Baltimore with Malcolm’s son, Tim, at the helm. Since joining the firm, he has enhanced the company’s marketing strategy, aimed at continuing the growth of Parker Flavors, Inc. Today, Tim serves as CEO.
