Responding to COVID-19

Tuesday, March 17th, 2020

Given the outbreak of COVID-19, Parker Flavors has undertaken the following measures to maintain continuity and safety during this challenging time.

Employee Health & Safety

  • All employees have been informed of best practices to reduce the risk of acquiring and spreading the virus.
  • All employees have been instructed to stay home should they or their family members show any of the following symptoms: cough, high fever or difficulty breathing.
  • We have buttressed our cleaning and sanitation protocols.
  • Employees are working remotely where possible.

Food Safety Committee

  • Our team is meeting with increased frequency to discuss internal and external risks associated with the virus.

Supply

  • Currently we are not experiencing any difficulty obtaining raw materials.
  • While we anticipate potential delays and shortages of some raw materials in Q2 due to delays in global feedstock supply chains, we have undertaken proactive measures to cover our projected needs through Q3.
  • We are increasing inventory levels for key ingredients potentially impacted by shipping delays.

Demand

  • We encourage our customers to evaluate their requirements at least through Q2 and plan accordingly. Consider a floor stock agreement or advance purchase orders to ensure continuity against unanticipated delays.
  • Additional time may be necessary to secure ingredients for new flavor projects, so any advance notice is very helpful. 

Customer Service

  • While we cannot guarantee we will not be affected by this outbreak, we will continue to provide the best service possible — the very core of our mission.
  • Events are rapidly changing. Should any issues arise that affect our business, you will be notified.
